Kagura and Shinpachi realized that they have been fooled by Hotaru, who explains that in her years of being in Yoshiwara, she has fallen for so many different men that she has forgotten who she really liked. She concludes that love induced by Aizenkou was better than the fleeting kind in people's hearts. Just as her followers were approaching Kagura and Shinpachi, they were stopped by Gintoki and Tsukuyo, who have seemingly snapped out of the spell.
